This is one of my favorite, easy to make pudding recipe. I prefer this most of the time as the ingredients are easily available at home.
Ingredients:
- Marie biscuits - 5
- Milk - 500 ml
- Egg - 3
- Sugar - 130 gm
- Cardamon powder - 1/4 tsp
- Sugar - 2 tbsp (for caramel)
Instructions to prepare pudding mixture:
- Grind the biscuits and add it to milk
- Take eggs and sugar and stir it till sugar dissolves
- Add cardamon powder and mix the entire mixture in one container
Steps to prepare caramel:
- Take a container in which you will be preparing pudding
- Add sugar and heat it on low flame
- Stir continuously to avoid burning
- Once you get the desired color, switch off the flame
For steaming:
- Take a big container in which you will be placing the container having the mixture
- Add little water (about 1 1/2" height)
- Place a saucer inside it. (Note: Saucer should be big enough so that water doesn't come on top of it.)
- Add mixture to the caramelized container. Cover it with aluminium foil and put small cuts using knife for steam to escape
- Place this container on top of saucer and cover the container
- Heat water till it starts boiling and then cook it on low flame.
- After 25 to 30 mins, check if it is cooked by inserting knife inside. If it comes clean, then it is cooked. If not, keep it for more 5 to 10 minutes and check again.
Once cooked, allow it to cool at room temperature and then refrigerate for around an hour.
To unmould, run a knife around it and invert onto a plate.
And your delicious dessert is ready to serve :)
